Win for Caboolture in Division 1
CABOOLTURE trounced Coolum by eight wickets in last Saturday’s Division 1 cricket clash at Caboolture Sports Cricket Club.
A century to Coolum skipper Sammy Curtis enabled the visiting team to post a highly competitive 9/220 in 40 overs, before the hosts romped to the target in just the 35th over.
Jackson Simpson, Glen Batticciotto and Matthew Schubert scored half-centuries to set up the successful run chase, after John Flew and Preston White earlier took 2/31 each for the victors.
Caboolture’s Mitchell Lee took 3/59.
Nine-wicket defeat in Division 2
Caboolture was no match for Tewantin-Noosa, which raced to a nine-wicket victory in the Division 2 game at Tewantin.
James Denslow took 3/23 as the visitors were dismissed for 116, before Pete Walker’s 82 not out secured the landslide result.
Five-wicket defeat in Division 5
Caboolture’s total of 9/180 wasn’t enough in the Division 5 match at Maroochydore, as the home team overcame a top order collapse to win with nearly nine overs to spare.
Chris Dellit top-scored for the visitors with 35, but Caboolture slipped from 1/77 to 3/84 and later lost regular wickets after reaching 3/130.
Maroochydore was in trouble at 5/47 before an unbroken 136-run partnership sealed the result.
Caboolture women win without losing a wicket
The Caboolture women’s team had a comfortable win on home soil on Sunday.
Claudia Arjun top-scored with 32 as the hosts used six batters without losing a wicket in a total of 139, which included 51 runs in illegal bowling.
Nambour was restricted to 4/78 in its 20 overs with Arjun, Calise Bicanic and Shaya Hyland sharing the wickets.

U13 South: USC Purple 76 (B Aspinall 29; H King 2/3) lost to Caboolture Hazlewood 3/123 (J Ryan and M Hartley 19 retired).
U15 South: USC Gold 113 (W Robba 28 not out; J Thorne 2/1, B Keating 2/7, H Watson 2/8, G Oxlade 2/13) lost to Caboolture 6/128 (K Hicks-Arnold 52 not out).
