This comes after nearly 60 people attended the opening of the exhibition on the night of Friday, October 8.

The artistic talent in the area was evident as almost 200 paintings and Visual Arts were entered in the competition, which was proudly supported by a Moreton Bay Regional Council (MBRC) grant.

Thirty-nine prizes were handed out, with Ellen Adriaansen winning the Champion trophy while Carol Robinson was Reserve Champion.

Ellen and Carol were handed the Hazel Nichols Memorial trophies, which were presented by Hazel’s granddaughter Krystle Nichols.

The exhibition is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 2pm at the Community Museum and Arts Centre, until November 27.
