Strong start in Division 1 for Caboolture

PRESTON White had another day out as Caboolture established a strong position on day one of its Division 1 cricket clash with Gympie at Caboolture Sports Cricket Club.

Having been dismissed for 49 in each of the past two rounds and taken bags of wickets, White scored 81 at the top of the order last Saturday.

Matthew Schubert (66), Jackson Simpson (48) and Glen Batticciotto (30) also made strong contributions as the hosts amassed 8/288 from 82.4 overs and then declared its innings closed.

Gympie’s openers faced 11 overs before stumps, and put on 14 runs without losing a wicket.

Erratic batting in Division 5

Host team Nambour struggled to a total of 135 in 59 overs, before the run chase also faltered as Caboolture finished the day at 5/66 from 19 overs.
