Sponsorship for race clubs

Somerset Regional Council has awarded a $1,000 sponsorship to each of the two race clubs in the Somerset region.

The Esk Jockey Club and Kilcoy Race Club will each receive the funds to support country racing.

Somerset Councillor Kylee Isidro said the injection of funds into the two local clubs would help support the broader economy.

“We all know that country racing attracts huge numbers of visitors to our region and supports our local economy and small businesses in the region,” Cr Isidro said.

Council has been supporting the clubs with an annual sponsorship for several years.
