Somerset receives funding to improve flood resilience
Somerset Regional Council is one of 36 flood impacted councils in Queensland to share in funding to improve flood resilience.

Council will implement two projects with the funding which was made available through the joint Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) in response to the 2021-22 disaster season.
This funding will help Somerset improve its flood warning intelligence system and also further develop its flood risk mapping data, so the community is better prepared for the threat of natural disaster.
Somerset Mayor Graeme Lehmann (pictured) welcomed the funding and said any improvements that help the region become more resilient was valuable.
