The Crisafulli Government is set to secure a skilled workforce pipeline for Queensland with the expansion of the Gateway to Industry Schools Program. This growth will introduce Agribusiness, Advanced Manufacturing, and Hospitality and Tourism to the program for the first time.
Thousands more students across the state will be able to explore careers in these key industries. The program, which reached 45,000 students across 372 Queensland schools last year, will now see an additional $8.48 million in funding, supporting 10 providers, including three new ones, until January 2028.
Minister for Employment and Training Ros Bates highlighted that the program works in partnership with schools and employers to build future workforces in high-demand sectors.
“The expanded program aligns with Queensland’s changing skills needs while preserving our competitive edge in traditional industries," Minister Bates said. "It will help young Queenslanders gain the skills and experience needed to meet growing industry demand."
The expanded Gateway to Industry Schools Program will include the following providers until January 2028:

Agribusiness – Central Queensland University (new)
Community Services – National Disability Services
