Rescue chopper arrives for toddler kicked by horse
A 22-month-old boy sustained head injuries and was in critical care after being kicked in the head by a horse at a Mt Archer horse riding facility on Wednesday afternoon (July 14).
A paramedic attended the scene after the incident occurred at about 3.30pm. Paramedics and a rescue helicopter arrived at the Kilcoy-based Yowie Park a little later, when the boy was moved from an ambulance to the rescue helicopter.
A doctor and a critical care paramedic were on hand at the helicopter, where the boy was conscious while he was accompanied by his mother, and then transported to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious condition.
