Red tape reduction for small and family business
The Crisafulli Government has announced a renewed focus on reducing red tape for small and family businesses, with the Queensland Small Business Commissioner tasked with driving this important initiative.
The Crisafulli Government has announced a renewed focus on reducing red tape for small and family businesses, with the Queensland Small Business Commissioner tasked with driving this important initiative.
This is a key commitment from the Crisafulli Government’s 100 Day Plan. The Queensland Small Business Commissioner will consult with small and family businesses to identify and remove bureaucratic barriers, while also focusing on improving dispute resolution to save businesses time and money.
Small and family businesses employ more than one million Queenslanders, making them a vital part of the state’s economy. However, under the former Government’s high red tape environment, Queensland has had the highest business failure rate in the nation, with more than 30% of new small businesses failing within the first five years.
Premier David Crisafulli said the removal of red tape was a priority to unlock the full potential of Queensland’s small businesses.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and we are committed to reducing the burdens they face to ensure they thrive,” Premier Crisafulli said.
Small and Family Business Minister Steve Minnikin added that reducing unnecessary barriers would foster innovation and growth.
Queensland Small Business Commissioner Dominique Lamb said reducing red tape was key to helping businesses succeed and contributing to Queensland’s economic future.
