Queensland Students Invited to Enter Buy Smart Competition
Queensland school students are encouraged to take part in the Office of Fair Trading’s Buy Smart Competition, which helps young people understand consumer rights.
Queensland school students are encouraged to take part in the Office of Fair Trading’s Buy Smart Competition, which helps young people understand consumer rights.
Open to students from Years 4 to 12, the competition offers more than $15,000 in prizes, including $500 for first-place winners in each category and a $2,000 prize for their school. Entries close on 13 September 2024.
Students can get creative by exploring consumer issues such as avoiding scams, buying a first car, or shopping safely online. Past winners have submitted board games, music videos, puzzles, quizzes, and apps.
With consumer awareness vital across Queensland, the Office of Fair Trading is encouraging regional and remote schools to get involved.
Beyond prizes, the competition equips students with essential life skills, helping them navigate real-world marketplace challenges.
