Pumicestone/Dances Interchange upgrade provided for in budget
AN UPGRADE of the Pumicestone Road and Dances Road interchange at Caboolture, at a cost of $4,284,000, was announced in the 2021-22 Queensland State Budget.
Member for Pumicestone Ali King said she worked hard to have this upgrade included in the budget.
“I know this intersection can be hazardous, which is why I was pleased to see CCTV cameras installed earlier this year to monitor vehicles.
“We are now taking the next step and upgrading the intersection, with $400,000 of the $4.284 million dollar upgrade allocated this financial year.”
This funding is part of the Palaszczuk Government’s Safer Roads Sooner program, getting the people of Pumicestone home sooner and safer.
Also included in this year’s budget is:
• $8,800,000 for wide-centre line treatment on the D’Aguilar Highway between Caboolture to Kilcoy;
• $4,096,000 for Caboolture-Bribie Island Road upgrade program;
• $6,541,000 for improving intersections along Morayfield Road and Beerburrum Road.
