Picturesque Christmas
Woodford businesses have become a hub for photoshoot displays, with Woodford Lifeline and Woodford Manor putting on beautiful Christmas set ups for residents to take photos.
Woodford Lifeline’s display is open to the public, set up in the shop foyer, inviting all customers and locals to get their holidays photos ready.
Woodford Manor’s Christmas Wonderland Experience is bringing the Chrissy spirit to its aged care residents, ensuring the season, which can bring mixed emotions, creates new, positive memories.
Woodford Manor Lifestyle Coordinator, Lee-ann Swan, said the display transports residents “to a magical world, filled with wonder and delight”.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for residents and their families to take beautiful, lasting photos together,” she said.
“Watching their excitement as we set up the decorations is priceless. The setup itself takes about two weeks, and the effort is well worth it when we see the joy it brings.”
The Christmas Wonderland also attracts visitors from the wider community, including the local ambulance crew, Delaney’s Creek State School, Woodford Singers volunteer group and, recently, the team from the Maggie Beer Foundation, who captured some memories to share with Maggie herself after their training program.
While the Woodford Manor display is not open to the public due to COVID risks to the residents, Ms Swan said they are hoping to change that next year.
