New Morayfield ambulance station set to answer the call
PLANS are now complete and tenders have been called for a new $6.2 million ambulance station in Morayfield that will provide better access to paramedic care for the fast-growing region.
State Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan said this $6.2 million investment will improve access to emergency response in the Morayfield area, and ensure our paramedics have a world-class facility from which to work.
“There is strong population growth in the greater Caboolture area, and the Palaszczuk Government is fully aware of the need to build the infrastructure to stay ahead of this growth,” Mr Ryan said.
“Officers at surrounding stations in Caboolture, Narangba and Ningi do a fantastic job servicing the region and that high standard of care will be reinforced when the new station becomes operational, bringing additional paramedics and equipment to the district.
“We’re planning for the Morayfield Station to operate 24-hours per day and be staffed by 17 paramedics. It will also house the QAS District Office, a 10-bay ambulance vehicle storage area and a carport area for 5 non-acute QAS vehicles.
“That means more paramedics and ambulances on the road, ready to help where needed.”
Construction of the station, to be built at 396 Morayfield Road (also fronting Lindsay Road), will commence later this year.
