New award to honour AgTech trailblazer

The State Government has announced a new bursary in memory of the late Liz Alexander, a trailblazer in agricultural innovation.

The Crisafulli Government has announced a new bursary in memory of the late Liz Alexander, a trailblazer in agricultural innovation. The bursary was unveiled at evokeAG. 2025, the Asia-Pacific region's premier agrifood innovation event in Brisbane.

This award will cover the cost for an AgTech leader to attend a future evokeAG forum. It honours Ms. Alexander’s pivotal role in developing Queensland’s AgTech ecosystem, including initiatives like the AgFrontier program and i4Connect.

Minister for Primary Industries Tony Perrett praised Ms. Alexander as a passionate advocate for AgTech. “Liz championed technology and the people behind it, helping drive sustainability in primary industries,” Minister Perrett said.

The bursary aligns with the Crisafulli Government's $30M Sowing Seeds of Farming Innovation fund, which aims to boost Queensland’s agricultural productivity to $30 billion by 2030.

The award will inspire the next generation of AgTech leaders, continuing Ms. Alexander's legacy of innovation.
