Labor's margins across three safe seatsin Moreton Bay have been significantly reduced, with swings against of between nearly 7 and 10 per cent.

In the recent state election, Morayfield, Kurwongbah, and Bancroft were all retained by Labor, despite the LNP’s return to power after a decade in opposition.

In Morayfield, Mark Ryan, who had a strong 16 per cent margin, saw a significant 9.8 per cent swing to the LNP, narrowing his lead.

"Thank you to the entire Morayfield Electorate community and my fellow candidates for participating in our great democracy,” he stated.

“I am humbled to be re-elected for a further term in parliament as our community’s representative. I will continue my track record of championing local issues and delivering for local people.”

Kurwongbah’s Shane King, who held a 13.1 per cent margin previously, faced an 8.1 per cent swing to the LNP, but expressed gratitude to his supporters: “Thank you for your continued trust, Kurwongbah. As always, I will keep on working hard for all of you. To all our volunteers and supporters, thanks from the bottom of my heart.”

In Bancroft, Chris Whiting’s 12.8 per cent margin was reduced by a 6.8 per cent swing toward the LNP.

Whiting expressed his thanks to supporters on Facebook, writing, “To all our constituents, voters, and campaign volunteers: the whole team here at the Bancroft office thanks you! We love your passion and commitment, and we will keep working with you to build a better community.”

As the count continued, the LNP held 52 seats, the ALP 32, with the Greens holding one seat, the Katter Party three, and one seat held by an independent.
