Kilcoy junior golfer earns top-three placing in United States
KILCOY junior golfer Ryder Cochran achieved third place in the 8 years and under boys category in the World Stars Junior Championship, staged in the United States from Tuesday to Thursday last week.
The event took place at Angel Park in Las Vegas, featuring boys and girls divisions as age levels were 8 years and under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15-18.
Ryder was the only Australian in the 8 years and under boys category, which had 12 competitors.
There were four golfers from the United States in this category, as well as two from Thailand, and one from each of Australia, New Zealand, England, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines.
The first placegetter was Brax Thomas from the American city of Stilwell, while second was Sean Wilding from the Thai capital of Bangkok.
