Golf activity for Kilcoy State High School
KILCOY State High School Senior Recreation Study students recently undertook an eight-week course studying golf as part of their Senior Recreation program.
After developing and mastering a range of golfing techniques, the students visited Kilcoy Golf Club to experience a round of golf.
At the golf club, students were able to practice their putting on the greens and work on reading the roll of some very challenging putting surfaces.
Students were also challenged to play tactically and consider the terrain while choosing their club.
In particular, the second hole on the course has a considerable water hazard directly in front which tested the students’ abilities.
With the knowledge they have gained, the students assisted in coaching a junior HPE class in some golfing activities and games.
Kilcoy State High School would like to thank Kilcoy Golf Club for their support of the school by offering the use of their facilities and for giving the students the opportunity to experience a round of golf on their 9-hole course.
