The Federal Government’s Saluting Their Service (STS) Commemorative Grants Program is designed to preserve wartime history, and highlight the service and sacrifice of defence personnel in all wars, conflicts and peace operations.

Federal Member for Blair and Shadow Minister for Veterans Affairs and Defence Personnel, Shayne Neumann (pictured), said communities including the Somerset region were proud of their military history, and local veterans who have served the nation, and their families who have supported them.

The STS program provides up to $10,000 for local and community-based projects and activities, such as flagpoles, memorials, digital honour rolls, and even upgrades to RSL facilities.

Additionally, grants of up to $150,000 are available for significant national, state/territory or regional projects and activities.

Applications close on February 8.
