Eagles soars into the semi finals with confidence
The U23 Narangba Eagles team were officially awarded their minor premiership trophy after playing Willowburn in Narangba on August 31.
Despite their close 2-3 loss against Willowburn, the Eagles had secured the minor premiership title several weeks ago.
The Willowburn side needed to win last weekend to secure a finals spot, finishing the regular season in fourth place.
They will play the Eagles again at home this Saturday.
The winner will head straight to the grand final, while the other team will be knocked out of the competition.
Narangba Eagles president, Darren Magin, said the U23 team had a number of injuries and players out, but will be back at full strength.
He added that he believes both the U23 and the Senior Men’s teams can make it all the way to the grand final.
“The Senior Men won all 22 games this season, and I don’t think that has ever been done in any Football Queensland competitions,” he said.
“Both teams playing for a spot in the grand final this week are really hoping to go all the way.
“The bond these teams have formed this year has been very strong and close.”
