Dementia friendly reading
Moreton Bay libraries are standing out amongst some of Queensland’s best, by being dementia-friendly, offering resources and spaces designed to stimulate memory for those affected by the condition.
This comes as the State Government is asking Queenslanders to share the sometimes-surprising benefits of their local public libraries as part of a statewide campaign, which launched last week.
How do you library? encourages Queenslanders from Cape York to Cunnamulla to tell their local communities what they love about their library and to make the most of its free activities and resources, which nurture creativity, connection, and lifelong learning.
Minister for Education and the Arts John-Paul Langbroek said local libraries provide “enormous value” to communities, with the How do you Library? campaign aiming to encourage all to engage with the range of programs and services on offer.
“Libraries are vibrant hubs which support lifelong learning and provide essential services for Queenslanders – no matter where they live,” he said.
