Council gets anti-litter officer
Moreton Bay Regional Council will employ an extra illegal dumping officer as part of a $91,000 State Government grant under the Local Government Illegal Dumping Partnerships Program.
Moreton Bay Regional Council received a $91,000 State Government grant to help combat illegal dumping.
The program provides funding to assist local councils to train and employ dedicated compliance officers to crack down on illegal dumping activities in their regions.
Moreton Bay Regional Council received $91,000 to fund one illegal dumping officer to support and supplement an existing illegal dumping officer to respond to complaints, investigation, and enforcement of illegal dumping offences.
Statewide, illegal dumping and littering was reported to have cost local governments $28million.
