Community shares in $35,000 through assistance grants
OVER $35,000 in funding to community groups has been approved through Somerset Regional Council’s Community Assistance Grants.
Councillor Kylee Isidro congratulated the 17 organisations that were successful in their applications.
“Our region benefits from a richer cultural, social and sporting life thanks to the work these community groups put in,” Cr Isidro said.
“Council is very happy to offer support through the community grants program to help them deliver activities, improvements and their own community programs that offer social inclusion and support our residents.”
Among the groups to benefit from the first round of community grants for the 2023/24 financial year are the Glamorgan Vale Hall Christmas Carnival Inc, Kilcoy District Tennis Association Inc. Lowood and District Kindergarten Association Inc, Moore Soldiers Memorial Hall Inc and QCWA Lowood Branch Inc, among others.
