Come along to experience wine and cheese matching for a great cause
Fundraising for Guide Dogs Queensland is the motivation for a wine and cheese matching event taking place at the Mount Archer-based Woongooroo Estate winery on Sunday 2nd May.
The event was organised for D’Aguilar resident Debra Mann, who will embark on a fundraising trek on Fraser Island from May 12 to 16, to help fund a litter of puppies for vision impaired Queenslanders.
Ms Mann will be among a group of 10 people who trek across beaches and through rainforests, and over trickling creeks and old mining tracks.
Ms Mann registered with Inspired Adventures who are partnered with Guide Dogs Queensland and, as part of the package, Ms Mann has committed to raise at least $2000. So far, fundraising is at 60% of her minimum goal.
At the Woongooroo Estate winery on 2nd May, locally sourced cheeses from Maleny and Kenilworth will be matched with Woongooroo Estate wine selections and presented by Phil Close.
Vegan and non-alcoholic options are available, along with activities on the day including bush poetry, music from a local bush band, and a multi-prize raffle with five prizes to be drawn.
The cost to attend the event is $30 per person, with bookings essential by calling Woongooroo Estate on 5496 3529 or 0408 064 134, or email at woongoorooestate@bigpond.com.
Proceedings are expected to last from 1pm to 4pm.
