These were among Lego steward Robyn Clarke’s comments at the Woodford Show, as she admired the lego entries from children mostly ranging from six to 13 years of age.
Robyn attended schools in Brisbane, Beerwah, Jimna, Kilcoy, Wamuran, Caboolture and Burpengary in the lead-up to the Woodford Show, to encourage children to take part in the lego section.
In another sign of encouraging the participants, Robyn offered incentive prizes including a bouncy ball, a wrist watch and a ribbon, which contained one of the following descriptions: well done, fantastic, amazing, fabulous, brilliant.
This year’s lego section featured a carnival theme, and Robyn was impressed that the participants showed a great deal of imagination and creativity rather than simply construct something formulaic.
Although the number of entries was a little lower than what Robyn may have expected following the absence of the Woodford Show last year due to Covid-19, Robyn was delighted nevertheless to see the smiles on the faces of the children who submitted an entry.
“It’s such a joyous time for them,” Robyn said.
The Lego steward also deemed that playing with lego had a number of benefits.
“Lego helps fine tune their motoring skills,” she said.
“They can go from big to little to miniature blocks.”
