An encapsulating high tea
Esk's Queensland Country Women’s Association (QCWA) have eternalised their 101 years by building and burying a time capusle filled with memorabilia from the association’s past 100 years.
The capsule was placed in a cement cylinder, which was beautifully decorated with a mosaic crafted by the Valley of the Lakes Garden Club’s mosaic group, and sealed for the next 20 years.
The mosaic group took a year to complete the capsule’s encasing, with the ladies having started after the centenary celebration last year.
The time capsule burial was accompanied by a high tea, which saw over 40 attendees, including QCWA members, the Esk Men’s Shed, the Valley of the Lakes Garden Club, and Somerset Mayor Jason Wendt, who helped bury and seal the capsule.
