Although the event was initially set for March, it was delayed due to a packed competition schedule.

Unfortunately, the planned bowls game was washed out, but the gathering was still a success, with members reminiscing and socialising. Politicians including Shayne Neumann MP, Jim McDonald MP, and Somerset Mayor Jason Wendt, attended, highlighting the club’s significance.

Representatives from Bowls Queensland and neighboring clubs also joined, with Bowls Queensland Board Member Joan Brotherton OAM presenting a commemorative plaque.

Thanks to CleanCo Queensland’s sponsorship, a two-course meal was served, giving kitchen volunteers a break to enjoy the festivities.

The anniversary cake was cut by notable figures, including the club’s patron and patroness, junior members, and a U25 QLD representative player.

The celebration concluded with members watching the Brisbane Lions win the AFL Grand Final on the club’s new big screen, capping off a memorable day.

The club remains a cherished institution, with hopes for many more successful years.
